Members (Who we serve)

Our members are as diverse as the greater community where we live and work. Each individual joins for personal reasons and each individual defines the club's value to them from their own perspective. Our members are:

  • Power boaters and sail boaters,

  • Boat owners and non-owner boating enthusiasts,

  • Singles, couples and families,

  • Young, old and every age in-between,

  • Expert mariners, as well as beginners,

  • Small boat skippers, Big boat captains, First mates, Second mates

The thread that holds our "quilt" of members together is our common love for community and for boating in the Pacific Northwest.

Mission

1.  To promote and foster boating and cruising of all kinds; to promote knowledge of all things pertinent to boating and cruising, including maritime law, rules of the road, signals, boating etiquette, boating handling, use of all nautical equipment and all things having to do with safe boating and cruising.

2.  To promote and foster  fellowship among its members; to furnish a place where meetings may be held to promote the purpose of the organization; and to conduct such social events as its members may desire.

History (Our heritage)

Founded in 1907, the Everett Yacht Club has made a positive impression on the Everett community with kindness, generosity and service. Through the decades, the club has hosted recreational boating and shoreside events, as well as service projects to leave a lasting legacy in the community.

EYC is privileged to belong to the Grand Fourteen Yacht Clubs in the Puget Sound area. Fourteen yacht clubs in the Puget Sound banded together over 75 years ago to support recreational boating. The EYC Bridge regularly interacts with bridge members from the other clubs to share leadership education, experiences and events. EYC members get to participate in some of the largest yacht club events in the area such as, Tacoma Daffodil Festival, Seattle Opening Day of Boating, Bremerton Heavy Weather, Christmas Lighted Boat Parade, and so many more.

“There is… absolutely nothing half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.”

~ Uttered by Kenneth Grahame’s water rat nearly a century ago.

Organization (How we operate)

The Everett Yacht Club operates as a Washington State 501(c)(7) Social Club non-profit organization. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees elected by the members. Board members oversee the direction of the club, as well as manage the club's finances and assets. Operational responsibilities are led by our "Bridge" of elected officers. Additional committee tasks are performed by member volunteers or are contracted out as needed to approved professionals.
